***update
tore the 5.3 down to a short block last night, looks pretty good inside, except for the sludge...... gonna pull the mains out and check out the bearings, see if the y are worn or anything from the coolant that went through it, motor ran good, had great oil pressure even when warm, just needed some new heads, we've done several at the shop over the last couple years, and they all are still goin from just slappin new heads on em, and they were sludged up worde than this one was, if everything looks good on the rotating assembly, may have the crank measured, if still good, may have the block vatted and the crank micropolished and slap some new bearings in, Lookin at some cams right now, but it's a ful roller set up on these 5.3's so it's gonna be a bit pricey, a friend gave me a S-10 grille, which i think looks better than the GMC grille it has in it, other than that, the truck is still at my friends house, he may be startin to pull the old motor tommorrow if not all muddy/snowy around it.

Pulled the dumb ass move of the year yeaterday.... had some of the parts for the motor I had taken to work to clean in the bed of my truck, well, i was workin out front gettin christmas lights and decorations down, and had pulled a shovel out of the back of my truck to dig some snow off of a few things, the wife popped out asked me to go get lunch, hopped in my truck and took off down penn, and came back, noticed the shovel hangin 1/2 way out the back of my truck and then i realized I left my tail gate down, my oil pan, valley cover, windage tray and 4 lifter cups were all GONE!!!!! At first I thought all the roller rockers and pushrods were gone too, but luckily i had not cleaned them yet and are still sttin in the solvent tank at work...... so I hauled ass back out of the neighbor hood looking for stuff..... it was all over the middle of penn over here, luckily everybody had dodge the big pieces...lol...... however the 4 plastic lifter cups did not survive.....gonna see how much them basterds are monday...........
